I just wanted to share a quick blog and life update with you all…
Some of you may have noticed that I stopped posting every day. I originally started my A Year In Words challenge with the best intentions. I hoped that writing a blog post every day would motivate and inspire my writing. I hoped that it would challenge me as a writer to share something daily. However, that turned out to not necessarily be the case. I found myself posting every day. But, I was not always writing about things I enjoyed. I wasn’t putting as much time and effort into all of my posts as I wanted. I found myself sacrificing time with my family, my sleep, and my sanity trying to ensure I wrote something every day. These sacrifices were not worth it to me.
This challenge did teach me one thing though. It taught me that I could make time every day to focus on myself and something I love. It showed me that my writing was important to me, I could invest in it, and that it would improve with time and practice. So, I plan on continuing to write. Just not daily. I will be posting at least once a week. Hopefully more. I want to write about things that inspire me, that are important to me, and that truly reflect what I value in life. I want to post 2-3 times a week, but I will do at least once a week. I hope you all continue to follow along in this journey. I think it will be fun!
As for what’s been going on for the past week, I’ve been enjoying some time with my family. We went to visit my family in Ohio last weekend to celebrate Memorial Day. This week, I have been busy at work and have been enjoying some time off from school before summer semester starts next week. I’ve been coming home to a happier baby boy and a happier husband. We’ve gotten some stuff done around the house and have enjoyed each other’s company. It’s been nice taking this little pressure off of myself. I’ve been able to relax before bed instead of busting out a last minute post. And this weekend, we had a lazy, relaxing weekend on the couch, played with our son, and binge watched some tv. It was nice.
Stay tuned for more! It’s going to be one fun summer!
