Sleep Training

Oh, sleep training. Those are two scary words. There are many people out there with some very passionate views on this topic so let me start out by saying that I am by no means an expert. This is just what has worked for us so far. It may or may not work for you and your family.

When our son was first born he slept well, like a baby. He was sleeping six to eight hours right out the gate. It was amazing and we didn’t appreciate what we had until it was gone. That period of restfulness lasted for about the first two months. And then he got sick. When he was sick he would only sleep in my arms for four days straight. We thought once he got over his illness that he would go back to sleeping through the night. But we were wrong. So very, very wrong.

From then on out, he consistently woke up every two to three hours. He did this for the next six months. We lived in a perpetual state of exhaustion. We tried everything we could think of. We adjusted his bed time and his naps. We tried letting him cry it out and we tried bringing him back into our room. Nothing worked.

We couldn’t do it anymore. We needed change. So, I started doing some research and I stumbled upon The Sleep Sense Program. The Sleep Sense Program changed our lives. Essentially, the program focuses on establishing a consistent schedule and routine for your child. It also does a modified cry it out method where you slowly increase the amount of time away from your little one. It worked wonders.

Our son only required a couple weeks of sleep training. Now he goes to sleep quickly and easily. If he does cry, it is only for about thirty seconds. His naps have even gotten longer!

This program is inexpensive and effective. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs help getting their child to sleep through the night. The Sleep Sense Program saved our son, saved our sanity, and saved our lives.
